No-show math.

Every empty chair has a price. Put in your own numbers to see what no-shows cost your office a week and a year — and what winning back even a third of them would be worth.

Your numbers

Example numbers are filled in — replace them with yours. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Your practice-management system's no-show or "missed appointment" report has this.
What you're paid for a typical visit, insurance included.
10
missed appointments a week
$1,500
in visits lost a week
$72,000
lost a year
$24,000
a year back if you won back a third of them

How it's worked out: appointments × no-show rate × visit value × weeks open. It's an upper bound — some missed slots get refilled or rebooked.

What’s a “typical” no-show rate?

A 2018 review of 105 studies found an average no-show rate of about 23%, ranging from 13.2% in Oceania to 43% in Africa, across many specialties and health systems.1 That spread is the point: your own rate is the only number that matters, which is why the calculator asks for it.

The same review found the two factors most often linked to no-shows were long lead times (booking far ahead) and a history of missed appointments.1 We couldn't find a reliable published rate for veterinary practices — so start with your own scheduling report.

Want this handled for you?

Pyxeon builds and runs the software around it.

We're a small Long Island team that builds the scheduling side around how your office already works: reminders by text, one-tap confirm and reschedule, a waitlist that fills gaps, and intake forms done before the visit. We host it and keep improving it — every change you ask for starts with a plan you approve.

A two-minute form about your office. A person — usually Timmy — replies within one business day. No pitch deck.
